Nearly three-quarters of the general public believe farmers should continue to be funded by the tax payer, suggests an opinion poll.
This is perhaps surprisingly positive backing for UK farmers retaining funding, given the rhetoric about Brexit and the referendum.

Independent market research agency Populus canvassed just over 2000 UK adults on behalf of Bayer in early October 2016.
Some 75% of respondents said tax payers should continue to fund farmers post-Brexit for growing food and looking after the environment.
