Currently 80% of Defra activity is shaped by the UK’s EU membership. As that changes, the department will need to “reimagine” itself and the services it provide, says Ms Moriarty.
“That’s pretty exciting, and there is lots of energy for thinking about opportunities to improve the environment and support the food and farming industry, and rural communities, outside the EU.”
