Brexit won’t hinder farm payment improvements, says Defra

Defra has pledged to cut delays in subsidy payments to farmers as it deals with the impact of Brexit.

The department says it will introduce an improved land register within the next 12 months.

The department pledged that leaving the EU would not hinder the improvement plans.

It said its European Union Exit Steering Group was considering the impact of leaving on policy areas including agriculture and land use.
