Richmond MP Rishi Sunak says he remains confident that the UK can secure a brighter future for British farming when it leaves the EU.
Despite the outcome of the General Election, he said thought it very likely that the UK would secure a good deal with Europe after Brexit.
Brexit presented an tremendous opportunity to formulate a British agricultural policy that was tailored for British farmers, Mr Sunak (pictured above right) told an NFU meeting.
A free trade deal for agricultural products was as much in Europe’s interest as the UK, he said.
